On the off years of the Microchurch Conference, there’s a gap—an opportunity for something different. Not another conference, but a space for depth, for thinking ahead, for real conversation about the future of leadership, mission, and the church.

So, here’s what we’re proposing:

During the Exponential Conference in Orlando (already a gathering point for many of us), we will host three nights of THINK Sessions—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday—where we come together over dinner to push the edges of our thinking. This is open to anyone who wants to engage in provocative, future-facing conversations about leadership, the church, and mission.

Each night, we’ll have a few short, challenging talks (10 minutes each), not just reading the moment we are in, but forecasting the horizon ahead. And then, we’ll open the room to a lively, honest discussion—driving toward new insights, deeper questions, and practical imagination for what comes next.

This isn’t a lecture series. This is about collaboration, creating something together. By the end, we hope to produce a white paper or article that captures our collective insights.

This is an open invitation. No ticket. No program. Just people who care about the future of the church and want to think and dream together.

The Topics:

  • Addressing the crisis of character and mental health in leadership

  • Unmasking and healing our broken systems

  • The city, the ecosystem, the way forward

R&D for the future of the church.

As the church grows, learns, and leans into the 21st century we need the courage to ask the right questions; What is working? Where is God’s Spirit leading? How do we remain faithful to Scripture? And how can we best embody Jesus and proclaim good news in our world? We started as a micro church collective; networks committed to the smallest expression of the church. But the more we have explored our alliance with each other, the more we realize that we are just as committed to the form the church is meant to take in the future, even if we do not yet know what that is. We want to listen, learn, and engage our culture with humility and bravery as we serve the radiant future of God’s church. Therefore, we think of our work together as a kind of Research and Development arm of the missional church and its various movements.
